Cathrine Seierstad has a PhD from Queen Mary, University of London where she currently work as a lecturer in International Human Resource Management and is a member of the Centre for Research in Equality and Diversity (CRED). Cathrine has also worked as a lecturer at Brunel University, University of Sussex and University of Witten Herdecke, Germany.<\/p>\n

Cathrine\u2019s expertise is largely within the fields of leadership, equality, diversity and inclusion at work, women on boards, women in management, corporate governance and CSR. Her current research examines the wider effects of using strategies (including quotas) to increase gender balance on corporate boards in a variety of countries. She has recently co-edited two books about Gender Diversity in the Boardroom (Palgrave Macmillan 2017). \u00a0Moreover, her research has explored the use of both organizational and institutional strategies to increase the share of women in senior positions. In particular, her research focus on the developments of inequality regimes and the consequences of using strategies (compulsory and voluntary) to challenge inequality and increase diversity in the labour market. In addition, she has written on the topics of work-life balance and diversity management.<\/p>\n

Cathrine has published widely in journals such as: Work, Employment and Society; Journal of Business Ethics; Corporate Governance: an International Review; Gender, Work and Organizations; Scandinavian Journal of Management, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. \u00a0Moreover, Cathrine regularly gives talks to policymakers and organisations on the topics of women on boards and diversity management.<\/p>\n
