Over more than 30 years, gender equality in labour and employment and the articulation between paid work and unpaid care work, namely adopting a time use approach, have deserved particular attention in her research and publications.<\/p>\n
Among the many studies and projects she has developed in these domains, the following should be mentioned: Agir para a Igualdade (Acting towards Equality), Di\u00e1logo Social e Igualdade nas Empresas (Social Dialogue and Equality in Business), Break Even – Igualdade de G\u00e9nero nas Empresas (Break Even – Gender Equality in Business) and Inqu\u00e9rito Nacional aos Usos do Tempo de Homens e de Mulheres (National Survey on Time Use by Men and Women). She has also participated in several national and European networks (such as the EC Network of Experts on the Situation of Women in the Labour Market and the EC LEI \u2013 Local Employment Initiatives for Women Network). <\/p>\n
She has been assuming the coordination role of the national research team acting as a member of the Network of European Correspondents of the European Observatory of Working Life \u2013 EurWORK and of the European Monitoring Centre on Change – EMCC, promoted by Eurofound \u2013 European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions. She has also coordinated the CESIS\u2019 research team acting as National Focal Point of the FRA – EU Agency for Fundamental Rights.
\nShe was responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of the project EGERA – Effective Gender Equality in Research and in Academia. She has also co-coordinated the technical evaluation of the applications to several editions of the Equality is Quality Award (Pr\u00e9mio Igualdade \u00e9 Qualidade).<\/p>\n
She is a trainer and a teacher in several post-graduate courses focusing on gender equality. <\/p>\n
Helo\u00edsa is a member of the Management Committee of the Cost Action IS1409: Gender and Health Impacts of Policies Extending Working Life in Western Countries. She is a consultant of the iGen – F\u00f3rum Organiza\u00e7\u00f5es para a Igualdade (Organisations for Equality Forum). She has participated in the development of gender audits and the design of action plans for gender equality in companies and in municipalities.
